SLDS uses the Remind app for easy parent communication.
Remind will be used for:
– Daily “Today We” reports and pictures
– Classroom announcements
– Class party sign up links
– School-wide reminders
– School-wide emergency notifications
You will receive a notification to join your child’s class via email. (If you already use Remind for another school, you do not need to create a new account.)
Please note that you cannot opt out of urgent emergency notifications.
If you have an urgent message for your child’s teachers during the school day, please contact the office and we will relay the message. The children are the teachers’ primary responsibility during the day, so they will not respond immediately to emails or texts.
Please visit our ONLINE STORE to:
-Purchase an approved rest mat for children in Twos, Threes, Pre-K/TK classes
-Make a donation to our teacher appreciation
-Order your child’s “Birthday Book Club” book
-Purchase School Spirit items
Special Friends and Family 2024 to 2025
Children love sharing their school with grandparents and special friends! Please complete and submit the form below if you would like grandparents or other special friends/family to receive invitations and underwriting information for the Book Fair, which includes Grandparents Night & Open House, in December and the Spring Picnic in April. Please note this list is recreated each school year, so if you submitted names of loved ones previously, you will need to do so again. If a couple uses one address, please use friend or family #1 and #2 to give us both names.
What should I do if I can’t attend the Meet the Teacher class visit with my child?
You are not alone! We recommend that you watch the class Welcome Video with your child. You may ask questions using the classroom email, and teachers will be making welcoming phone calls in the first few weeks of school, as well.
Do I need to purchase a rest mat?
Children in Twos, Threes, PreK, and Kaleidoscope TK classes must have an approved plastic, fire-retardant rest mat. Due to Licensing regulations and storage limitations, cloth mats and sleeping bags are not allowed.
Mats are provided for children in our Infant and Toddler classrooms.
My child is in a Twos, Threes, or PreK class. When will they receive their St. Luke’s School Bag?
SLDS School Bags will be distributed at the Meet the Teacher or on the child’s first day of school. Remember that backpacks, totes, and rolling luggage bags are not allowed due to space limitations.
We are applying to another school next year and need a teacher recommendation. What is the process?
Teacher recommendation forms are handled by our Registrar, Haylea Nguyen. We have a process for handing your request, and you can find the request form HERE.
How do I add someone to my authorized pick-up list?
You will need to fill out the Authorization to Pick Up form and email it to Ms. Trepa at the front desk. (ktrepa@stlukesdayschool.org)
Please download the form HERE.
How can I get more secure access key tags?
Please stop by the front desk with your ID and we will be happy to help you.
How do I become a registered volunteer for SLDS?
Our Parent Advisory Council (PAC) has a wide range of volunteer opportunities available. A background check is required for any adult volunteering with children. You can find the initial application and annual renewal forms HERE.

CHAPEL BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS 2025-2026
We love to celebrate the birthdays of all children whose classes attend Chapel as an integral part of our Chapel services. Children will be called to the front of the room, given a birthday sticker, a birthday blessing, and we will all sing Happy Birthday!
September 10 & 11
Chapel Begins for 3s, Pre-K, and TK classes
- September 1-6 birthdays will be celebrated during the first Chapel week (on 9/10 or 9/11)
October 1 & 2
Chapel Begins for 2s classes
- September birthdays will be celebrated during the first chapel week, along with any October birthdays that fall during the first week
Summer Birthdays
We will celebrate summer birthdays during a designated week at the end of the school year along with the regularly scheduled birthdays.
June birthdays – Wednesday, April 29 or Thursday, April 30
July birthdays – Wednesday, May 13 or Thursday, May 14
August birthdays – Wednesday, May 20 or Thursday, May 21
If Chapel doesn’t occur during a specific week, we will celebrate all birthdays that fell within that time during the next scheduled Chapel. Similarly, if children are absent during their birthday week, we will celebrate their birthdays during the next Chapel they attend.
There will be no Chapel:
October 22 and 23: Fall Conferences
February 4 and 5: ECMC
March 11 and 12: Spring Break
March 18 and 19: Transportation Day
May 6 and 7: Spring Conferences
Please email Ms. Brandt at bbrandt@stlukesdayschool.org if you want your child’s birthday celebrated a different week from the one in which it normally would.
Chapel Etiquette
In order for our chapel services to be a meaningful time for the children we have created chapel etiquette guidelines:
- Please be on time so that your child can come to chapel with classmates.
- If chapel has begun, do not send your child in. The chapel usher will open the door in time for late arrivals to join the birthday celebration and music.
- Strollers and large bags must be left outside the chapel. Parents who arrive late must deliver their children’s belongings to the classrooms.
- Parents are asked to model chapel manners for their children. Enter quietly, participate joyfully in the service, listen respectfully without talking, and remain for the entire service.
- Birthdays are celebrated each week. Those with birthdays Sunday through Saturday of the current week are honored. Summer birthdays are recognized in May. You are welcome to attend chapel for your child’s special birthday blessing.
- When guests attend chapel, we request that they sit on the benches at the back so that children can see the worship leaders.
Chapel Sharing Days and Service Projects
There are opportunities throughout the year for our children to learn about caring for others. Age-appropriate Sharing Days are planned, including canned food donations at Thanksgiving, a special Christmas donation, canned food (“Souper Bowl”) in January, and others in the spring. Various community agencies benefit from these donations. Additionally, each PreK/TK class selects their own service project to initiate during the school year.
