Special Offerings
Music
Sing, dance, and move! Every child, every age, enjoys visits from our dedicated Music Teacher. Through songs, movement, and playful activities, children build language, social, emotional, and musical skills, all while having fun together!
Throughout the year, the Fine Arts Department at SLUMC shares live performances designed just for young children. It’s a magical way for little ones to experience music up close.
Motor
Strong bodies, happy hearts!
Children in our Twos, Threes, PreK, and TK classes enjoy energetic gym sessions with our dedicated Motor Coach. They run, jump, balance, and play through creative, developmentally appropriate activities, curated to gently guide and celebrate each child’s growing physical skills.
Chapel
Children of all faiths and cultural backgrounds are welcome!
Children enrolled in Twos, Threes, Pre-K, and TK classes participate in a weekly chapel service. The children gather to sing songs, hear a Bible story, learn a Bible verse, and share a birthday blessing. Parents are always invited!
In the classroom, children pray before meals, sing songs to God, and celebrate major Christian holidays like Easter and Christmas.
Early Literacy Lab
All Pre-K and TK students visit the Early Literary Lab (ELL) one full morning each week. Our dedicated Early Literacy Specialist incorporates story dictation and dramatization, phonemic awareness, fine motor development, letter/sound recognition, vocabulary development, block construction, and other important foundational skills known to increase children’s on-going capability in the academic areas of oral communication, reading, and writing.
S.T.E.A.M. Lab
All Pre-K and TK classes visit the S.T.E.A.M. Lab once a week. Our dedicated STEAM Specialist creates an exciting environment full of hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities! Our Little Learners make hypotheses, experiment, problem solve, and determine outcomes while playing and having fun.
Children's Library
Our Children’s Library is a relaxing space on campus that houses over 6,000 children’s books! All Day School and Church families are invited to visit the library and check out books as often as they would like. Our teachers also have access to all books available as they stock their Book Centers. SLDS parent volunteers help keep the library running each school year by processing new books, checking books in and out, and fixing books that may need to visit the Book Hospital. You can find everything from poetry to stories about dinosaurs and farm animals on our shelves.
Afternoon Enrichment
St. Luke’s Day School offers on-campus afternoon enrichment opportunities for children enrolled in our Threes, Pre-K, and Kaleidoscope TK classes. These enrichment classes are taught by outside groups; children must be signed up and there is a separate cost.
Available Enrichment Classes for Fall 2025 include Martial Arts, Ballet, and Soccer Shots.
